Federal Highway lane closures, traffic diversions in Shah Alam for LRT3 construction – July 5-20 in stages

Phase 1, July 5-6

Federal Highway users, take note. There will be lane closures and traffic diversions this month to facilitate construction of the LRT3 project, also known as Shah Alam LRT Line.

According to the contractor of Setia Utama LRT 3 (formerly known as MRCB George Kent), the lane closure will be implemented in phases at the Shah Alam section, where the Petronas and Shell stations are located. The lane closure will start tomorrow (July 5) and will last until July 20, with the closure period being from 11pm to 5am the following day.

Phase 2, July 12-13

Lane closures will be phased in. From 5-6 July, it will start with the far left and middle lanes, heading towards Klang. During Phase 1 of the closure, only one lane will be open to traffic, so please take note. See map above.

For Phase 2, the express lanes in both directions will be closed from 12-13 July. In Phase 3, the leftmost and centre lanes, KL-bound, will be closed from 19-20 July. Under Phase 1, there will be one lane open for KL-bound drivers. The target date for the opening of the LRT3 Shah Alam Line is 1 March 2025.
