Fast-charging user experience, Lightyear range claim, Lotus electric sports car: Today’s Car News

Lightyear claims some impressive efficiency at speed which is illegal in most US states. Lotus looks at its future electric sports cars. And EV fast charging networks are appreciated. This and more, here at Green Car Report.

Annual review of User experience for US EV fast charging network puts Electrify America first — although the study notes that this does not include technology performance, reliability, or network uptime.

Netherlands-based Lightyear is hinting that its solar-powered One electric vehicle can hit the mark 250 mile range at very fast 85 mph—On a battery pack of only 60 kWh. It’s a testament to Lightyear’s emphasis on efficiency – and especially, in this case, aerodynamics.

Lotus Cars and British battery supplier Britishvolt said last week that they were co-developing “a new battery pack”, of course, with an ultra-light construction, to power the future electric Lotus sports car. This is a separate project from electric SUVs, formed on the SEA platform shared with other Geely brands, expected to be shown later this year.

And do you miss us First time driving a Kia EV6 2022? One of the sportiest looks in the electric hatchback-crossover family hits the mark in almost every respect — and seems to deliver superb real-world performance and range.
