Players have until Sunday, September 25 to complete the demo, with survivors earning a special “Crouching Helmet” that can be equipped and used in the main game upon release.
But before you plunge into battle, I’m here to break down my five best tips and tricks to help you get that sweet helmet when the game launches in Early 2023.
first. Character creation
Before launching yourself into the supernatural world of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, you’ll need to create a character that’s up to the challenge. One particular option you’ll want to pay attention to is called “Stage”. Stages are based on five elements (fire, water, earth, wood, and metal) and depending on the stage you choose, you’ll be equipped with certain stats, Spells, and armor (and you’ll even equipped with a Divine Beast!). Also, depending on the stage you choose, you’ll have a specific weapon equipped to start the game, ranging from a one-handed sword to a dual-sword to a single sword. Each weapon has at least one unique martial art technique, but there are some rare weapons that have both. If you’re attack minded and want to get straight into the action, I’d recommend starting with fire because of its offensive abilities and awesome Witch Spells that will really make you shoot fire at enemies .
2. Morale
Once in the demo level, one of the first things you need to pay attention to is your sanity bar and how it changes throughout the game. The sanity bar is at the bottom of the screen, and you’ll see it tilt left or right during combat, with the bar tilting left when your sanity is being drained and to the right when your sanity is up . Your sanity drains when you use powerful attacks like martial arts or mage, but it increases again when you successfully land quick attacks or deflect enemy attacks . You have to balance attack and defense in battle knowing which attacks to use and when while ensuring that you don’t run out of morale. When the bar is almost maxed out, it’s a great time to unleash your strongest Wizarding Spells.
3. Spirit and Courage
Morale is an important factor in the game. Having a high Morale will make you stronger and also unlock new Mage Spells. Taking control of the battlefield or defeating powerful enemies will raise your Sanity level, and the higher your Sanity, the stronger your character becomes. But it’s not just about Spirit when it comes to an all-around soldier. It is important to raise your Fortitude level by identifying Markers and Battle Flags around the map. For example, if you die at Sanity level 5, but don’t find any flags to raise your Strength, you will drop back to Sanity level 0 when you restart the game. However, if you die at Sanity level 5 but have placed a Mark or Battle Flag to raise your Level, you will keep your Sanity level equivalent to the Intensity Level you have set.
Since keeping Fortitude high in the game will keep you from losing all the Morales you’ve gained, make sure to explore all possible routes in the demo. At the same time, be cautious when approaching enemies with high Morale stats. You’ll be rewarded for defeating them, but if you take on a high Sanity ranked enemy before you’re ready, you may not only be wiped out quickly, but that enemy’s Sanity level will increase to 1 when they defeat you, making them harder to defeat the next time you face them.
4. Magician
As your Sanity increases, you’ll unlock more Spells based on your character’s chosen stage. These Mage Spells vary by element and cover everything from offensive to defensive skills. For example: Water phase has stealth spells that help you sneak behind enemies and take them down from behind, where wood phase has additional support and healing spells that help warriors heal and heal . Using these spells can help you defeat stronger enemies, especially when playing cooperatively with other friends and the different stages being used on your team.
5. Deflect
When fighting one or more enemies, you can defend yourself by deflecting their attacks to avoid being hit by bullets. This will also raise your morale and position for your next attack. It is easy to predict the attacks of smaller enemies like demons due to their lack of attacks, but larger enemies like tiger-man can be really tough. Even if you’re not targeting an enemy directly, as long as you deflect the attack at the right time, you’ll avoid damage, break their morale, and potentially stagger them to help set up your next takedown. It’s incredibly rewarding when you can deflect an attack and score a counter-attack at the right time!
