The entire season has been plagued by a single word in the F1 sporting regulations. Specifically the word is “any” and it was previously found in article 55.13. Arguing that the word is ambiguous, and allowing Michael Masi to specify that only five cars with a front roof are allowed to wave, would therefore award the championship to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, by because “anything does not necessarily mean all.” F1 said that and intentionally changed the wording of that article from any to all, thus introducing any ambiguity.
There is no going back to the ridiculous results of the final round of the 2021 season, but to ensure that bullshit never happens again, the FIA has revised the rule to stipulate that all cars have The canopy must be waved by the head when it is safe to do so. Therefore. This change was made as a result of discussion with all the groups and many debates within the FIA itself. The change came on Tuesday, when the FIA F1 2022 Final Regulations were announced.
The rule now reads as follows:
“If the course staff thought it was safe to do so and the message ‘VEHICLE ALREADY CAN NOW DO IT’ was sent to all competitors using the messaging system Officially, all cars that have been clapped by the leader will have to pass the cars on the lead lap and the safety car. ”
This is the second time in the last month that F1 has had to change the rules because some damn, Michael Masi did in the 2021 season. If the 2022 rules pack goes into effect during the 2021 season, Max Verstappen will finish the season with 376 points compared to Lewis Hamilton’s 387.
Two additional rules have been changed by F1 regarding the drivers’ post-race actions. The first requires that all podium ceremonies and post-race interviews be conducted with drivers wearing their “neck-length, no-waist” driving suits, which is a bullshit way to discourage racers, especially Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, from wearing protest t-shirts under their suits. The third big change is the result of Verstappen touching Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in the perc ferme after the Brazillian Grand Prix and the new rules “Drivers must not interfere with parc ferme protocols in any way.”
So it’s a rule change that admits what F1 did last year was wrong, a rule change that admits F1 doesn’t care about society cause its driver support and a good rule of thumb. Well done, guys. Let’s try not to let it get worse this year, eh? Not presure.
