F-150 Lightning frunk, Rivian considers Georgia, NMC recycles: Car News Today
Ford tells us about the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck. Rivian is looking at Georgia for a second tree. And a battery manufacturer is getting ready to mass-produce cells from recycled materials. This and more, here at Green Car Report.
Last week, Swedish battery supplier Northvolt announced that it has produced working EV batteries using recycled nickel, manganese and cobalt. Materials are recovered through a scalable process – potentially helping automakers meet their carbon and sustainability goals, while adding to supply chain stability.
Electric truck manufacturer Rivian is said to be considering a location in Georgia for a second factory in the US—Though the negotiations are not yet completed. If the IPO darling chooses Georgia, it would be close to what is becoming a regional hotspot for electric vehicle and battery manufacturing.
Ford told several stories about the origin of the so-called Mega Power Frunk in the electric pickup 2022 F-150 Lightning. It was not conceived just to fill in the expected headers; The automaker planned it with customers using actual Ford trucks, to turn it into everything from desks to storage.
