During my day at Bicester Village, I created a full look from each designer for different occasions. Minimalist pioneer Jil Sander’s pale tones, creamy whites and dark neutrals are the epitome of premium workwear. Don’t get me wrong—I’m happy to wear almost any of the brand’s pieces outside of the office, but their oversized silhouette and modern cut make them perfect for a high-end professional look. I opted for a suit with black sandals and a bag, but my favorite is this peachy, translucent sleeveless top, which gives size and texture to a look that’s just right. At Isabel Marant, I was so excited to find this black maxi dress. The one-shoulder neckline and elasticated waist make styling easy whether I want to wear it with heels at a wedding or with sandals for a holiday evening drink.
Acne Studios has come up with ways to create cool, casual staples, with a wide selection of denim colors. I teamed my jeans with an oversized, printed long-sleeve t-shirt and this white leather biker jacket (possibly the coolest jacket I’ve ever worn). Leather and fleece outerwear is a home feature and therefore a great investment. I love the amount of zippers, the oversized shape, and the buttery soft leather that I think will only get better with time. What’s more, it’s already more than half off! The selection at Marni really quenched my thirst for classic style. So many pieces are reminiscent of the ’60s or ’70s with orange and green floral prints, flared pants, and accessories like large, round sunglasses. No matter where I shop, my rules are always the same: Look for items that last; try not to buy items that are too trendy so that you can wear them over and over in different ways; And don’t buy anything that you don’t feel 100% comfortable with because it will sit in the back of your closet, not worn for a year.
