EV vs. cost of gas vs. fuel, Toyota and CARB, Polestar on the water: Car News Today
Polestar battery technology is making its way into a number of fast and efficient ships. Toyota and CARB are collaborating. And electric cars use much less “fuel” than gas cars. This and more, here Green Car Report.
According to a recent estimate by the Department of Energy, each EV in the US market costs less than $1,000 to “fuel”– charged by electricity – compared to $2,000 to $7,000 for most gasoline vehicles. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid lie in between.
Electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar has reached an agreement with Swedish company Candela to bring Polestar battery and electric hydrofoil charging technology uses 80% less energy at high speed than traditional motor boats.
And Toyota announced on Tuesday that it doing well with California and its Air Resources Board. The automaker has recognized the state’s authority to set its own (stronger) vehicle emissions standards, something Toyota has challenged in recent years.
