Environmental campaign group Sea Shepherd filmed this footage of what they estimate to be “100,000 dead fish.”
They accused the Dutch-owned fishing boat FV Margiris of knowingly discharging the fish as a “catch-by”.
The PFA Fisheries Association, a spokesman for the ship, said the “rare incident” was caused by a “break” in the fishing net, which they reported to authorities.
