Eli Manning Creates Awkward Manningcast Moment Discussing Fab Melo With Draymond Green
The Rams-49ers game’s “Monday Night Football” manningcast has an awkward moment as the discussion turns to Draymond Green and the 2012 NBA Draft.
Almost in the middle of Green’s appearance on the show, Peyton Manning asked if it was true that the Warriors star, who placed 35th in his draft, could name each player in front of him. Three-time NBA All-Star champion and quickly eliminated several names before Manning stopped him.

In the end, the ESPN2 broadcast produced a list of each player put forward before Green, including Fab Melo, who placed 22nd overall for the Celtics.
That’s when Eli Manning quipped, “Fab Melo? Where did he play?” That creates a brief pause before Green responds, “Fab Melo is the Celtics.” That then prompted the younger Manning to ask if Melo would still compete. Green replied, “No, he – God rest his soul” before talks quickly returned to football.

It was an unfortunate, awkward moment on an almost forgettable Manningcast, one that clearly stems from Eli Manning not knowing Melo was dead. Perhaps that is why Peyton Manning was so quick to interject and move the discussion back to the ongoing play.
