It’s no secret because so far, we really like Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire electric scooter brand. The LiveWire One, formerly the Harley LiveWire, is one of the all-time great bikes I’ve ridden, and even though the bike is tall launch price, lack of highway range, and the infrastructure is a bit disappointing, it’s always something I should buy in my mind. It’s also no secret that the bike hasn’t exactly set any sales records.

That said, LiveWire is making some big strides in the e-bike game right now that could set it up for massive growth over the next eight years. This year, the company is completing the merger of SPAC to list shares. The company is launching a new mid-size naked bike called the Del Mar. And that bike is launching a new platform on which future EV bikes can be built. All good stuff.

The LiveWire One aren’t exactly on shelves right now, and they’re pretty slim in the real world. So going from just a few thousand in 2020 to a hundred thousand in 2026 is a big jump and I hope the company can succeed. Based on an official investor relations document obtained by RideApartthe company expects 100,000 LiveWires to be sold per year from 2026, growing to 190,000 per year to 2030.

I am really looking forward to the light electric motorcycle that LiveWire is developing with KYMCO. That motorcycle will help LiveWire expand its reach across the Europe and Asia, and hopefully bringing the price down to the 4-digits, where we ordinary people can actually treat them as commuting bikes. That would be pretty cool, I think. As long as it retains the easy-to-drive nature of the LiveWire One. The more e-bikes the better.
