Eddie Hearn has stated that he believes Anthony Joshua’s rematch against OIeksandr Usyk will take place in June.
After Anthony Joshua was dropped from the WBA, WBO & IBF titles last year, the Watford native activated the rematch clause under his contract.
With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a rematch between newly crowned unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua was in doubt, bringing talks between the British to a halt.
Discussions over the past few weeks about potential contenders for Joshua have been on the table, with heavyweights Joseph Parker and Otto Wallin throwing their names in the hat.
However, according to TalkSPORTHearn has stated that a rematch now looks likely.
“Is AJ vs Usyk happening now? I really think it will do,” Hearn said. “I really think the fight is going to be next and it’s going to be in June.”
