EasyJet cancels 200 flights due to IT problems | UK News



EasyJet canceled 200 flights after experiencing an IT problem and advised customers to check their bookings before arriving at the airport.

The low-cost airline said flights departing between noon and 2pm GMT were affected.

“Our team of IT specialists are working to restore the system as soon as possible,” easyJet said.

Earlier, the company said in a statement “flights departing between 1pm and 3pm UK time today may be affected”.

It advises customers to use its flight tracker to check the status of their booking.

EasyJet customers on social media have been posting about canceled flights from multiple locations, both in the UK and Europe.

Ana Finch tweeted “didn’t even bother going to the airport, checked our luggage, took us to a gate, said our flight was on board, then saw hundreds of other passengers informed informed that the flights were canceled because we were planning to get on the plane”.

Callum Lake posted: “@easyjet you canceled my flight I’m stuck in Prague, your website isn’t working, it won’t let me manage my booking. What do you expect me to do? “

Another user, @jxdieb, said her flight was canceled two hours before boarding and she was “stuck in Paris until tomorrow with an autistic child”.

EasyJet said: “We advise customers traveling with us today to continue checking Flight Tracker to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.

“We apologize for the inconvenience caused and would like to thank our customers for their patience as we work to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
