Ducati is set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary 916 at World Ducati Week 2024 with a series of dedicated activities, including the launch of the first official census of the 916, 996 and 998 models.

WDW, scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 July at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, is an event designed to bring together the very best of Ducati and, as such, becomes the perfect setting for a celebration of a motorcycle that has left an indelible mark on the history of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer.

The Ducati 916 is a model that can be traced before and after in the world of motorcycles. A true icon of design and racing, still considered a symbol of beauty applied to two wheels and representing, together with its immediate generations 996 and 998, the most successful classic superbike series of all time with 121 race wins, 8 World Manufacturer titles and 6 World Rider titles in WorldSBK.

At WDW 2024, Ducati will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Ducati 916. A dedicated exhibition with demonstrations of the family models (916, 996, 998) and on-track action with both Carl Fogarty and Troy Bayliss

During the three days of Ducati World Week, the 30th anniversary of the 916 will be celebrated in an exhibition open to all, called “Ducati 916: the essence of Ducati DNA”. The exhibition will trace the family’s history in a museum-storytelling journey through the display of some of its most legendary models. There will be series-production motorcycles that were protagonists of the World Superbike Championship, which Ducati won from 1994 to 2002, along with some particularly important road bikes, such as the first “916 Senna” and the 916 that belonged to designer Massimo Tamburini (produced by the Tamburini family for the occasion).

With the aim of preserving the historical heritage and enhancing the uniqueness of these classic superbikes, the first official census of the 916 series will begin in Misano and all Ducatisti owners of the 916/996/998 models are invited to certify their ownership of their motorcycles.

This certification will give you access to a special program for WDW2024 with the unique opportunity for you to be a protagonist in a number of initiatives designed to honor this sports icon.

The certification activities for 916/996/998 owners will also continue in the months following World Ducati Week, ensuring that all those who certify ownership of one of these models will receive exclusive digital content and access to a number of unique experiences that will be gradually revealed throughout the year. The official census allows Ducati to record the history of these motorcycles, establish direct contact with the owners and ensure a direct line of communication that will encourage recognition and celebration in future generations.

The most efficient way to participate in the census is through the MyDucati App, adding your classic supercar to the “Digital Garage” and uploading the necessary documents. At WDW2024, you can do this directly in a dedicated area of the paddock, besides there will also be a dedicated parking lot for the 916/996/998 models.

The 30th anniversary celebration of the 916 at Ducati World Week is part of the most extensive programme of activities ever with unique and unrepeatable events combined with many other continuous experiences across all three days of the event.
