Dream Shake achieves dream results at Connaught Cup

Angelou pass favorite 3-2 Souper Hoity Toity by the neck in second place but her number was taken down after the managers ruled that she interfered with that opponent during the extended run.

Il Malocchio, a 5-year-old coached by Marty Drexler, returned $18 for her well-deserved win over hot Sahin Civaci. 5 year old daughter of Super Speedy and Egbert Bay were bred by her owner, Franco Meli of Ontario and now boast a 5-6-3 record in 23 attempts and make $563,078.

“We brought her down to the US (Palm Meadows) for the winter to get her started,” Drexler said. “We started her in Kentucky (Turfway Park March 25).

“Getting out of Lasix, it wasn’t the best thing for her, and she was a little tired that day and then we came back here. Last time (Belle Mahone (G3) June 3), she was up to speed (the battle) up front and she didn’t like that, so this is much better.”

Super Hoity Toity rallied strongly to miss while Angelou died in the game after returning to some challenges.
