The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame said Thursday that it is reducing the value of Dolly Parton request to decline this year’s nominations for the Hall of Fame class.
This week, the county’s music legend posted a declare for her social media accounts saying that while she’s grateful to be nominated, she doesn’t think she necessarily “won it.”
“I really don’t want the votes to be divided because of me, so I have to respectfully bow,” Parton said in his statement. “I hope that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will understand and be willing to consider me again – if I am worthy.”
However, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame said on Thursday that she will indeed remain on this year’s ballot, arguing that the voting process is well underway.
“All of us in the music community have seen Dolly Parton’s gracious message expressing her feelings that she didn’t earn her right to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” Rock said. & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation said in its statement. into NPR.

NPR reached out to Parton’s publisher for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
On Thursday, Parton appeared on Fox and friendswhere she talks about her decision to vote this year.
“Well, I don’t exactly feel about that because [of] my perception and, I think, the perception of most of America. I just feel that’s more relevant to people in the rock scene,” Parton said in her live TV interview.
“I’ve been educated ever since, say it’s more than that, but I still don’t feel right about it. It’s like putting AC/DC in the Country Music Hall of Fame. It just feels feels a bit out of place for me,” she added.
However, a number of country music artists have been included in previous College Hall of Fame classes, including Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Brenda Lee, and Chet Atkins.
The 76-year-old singer, the only country music artist in this year’s vote, is among those nominated for this year’s category for the first time, including the rapper. Eminemhip-hop group A tribe has been called to investigate and singers, songwriters and producers Lionel Richie.
To qualify for this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination, artists or bands must have released their first commercial recording in 1996.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will announce this year’s class in May, and the class will officially be introduced in the fall.
