Dog Surpasses After ‘Common Mistakes’ And Posts That Warn Dog Owners To Save Others

We all love watching videos of dogs, cats, and other animals that make us smile. However, there are times when it is in the interests of safety and awareness to raise awareness to avoid future dog tragedies.

This is Petey’s story. Meet Christina Young, who has lost her beloved companion Petey and wants to raise awareness among pet owners. After a terrible accident took Petey’s life, Christina said goodbye to him. She wants other pet parents to understand that this tragedy is avoidable for most of us, and that “this accident” happened right in our own home.

One day, she returns home expecting to see a tail beckoning Petey to a quiet house. Along with this quiet home, her lousy boyfriend Christian has received horrifying news about their baby boy, Petey. Young posted this on her Facebook page:

“Like [Christian] Stepping in deeper, he finds our sweet boy lying lifeless with a stupid bag of chips on his head. He was able to get them off the counter that we will forever blame ourselves for walking away. He eats every chip out but of course comes back for crumbs… this makes the bag tighter and tighter and there’s nothing left inside every time he goes any further he’ll inhale causing the bag to stretch more & wrap tighter around his head.. eventually leading to suffocation.”

Christina simply could not understand how this could have happened. Why didn’t Petey pull the bag off his head with his feet?

He is very bright, intelligent and agile. So she did her own research and found information that no one else talked about online. Young wants to ‘spread the word’ so that pet owners know the dangers of leaving chips, popcorn, cereal, bread and even bags of dog food lying around. They can pose a serious threat to our beloved animals.

“Three to five pets asphyxiated are reported each week and 42 percent of them occur while the owner is in the next room. It only took about 3 minutes for their oxygen levels to drop to lethal levels. With this happening so often, we’re surprised by the lack of awareness on this topic out there. “

Pet parents are oblivious to these everyday food-related hazards, and before it’s too late, awareness wants to spread to others. Jennifer Young and Christian want to raise such awareness. Both want such things to happen so that another pet does not suffer the same fate as their pet did.

“So I’m just asking that in honor of my little boy Petey that you be extra careful, warn other dog owners and give your fur babies some extra love today and every day after that. I pray none of you have to go through your pain this way. We love you because you are the best boy in the whole world and we will remember our good times forever”

We regret Petey’s passing and send our condolences to Christina and Christian. Rest in peace Petey.
