Dog locked in cage for 6 years, then gets an ‘amazing’ transformation and has a whole new life
Upon receiving a request to assist a terminally ill individual by caring for their sick dog, a team of dedicated animal rescuers immediately responded, demonstrating their unwavering commitment them towards animal welfare. However, when they arrived, they encountered unexpected resistance. They discovered Lazarus, the dog, locked in a cage, a situation that had persisted for six years.
Rescue teams encountered significant challenges accessing the barn, mainly because the accumulation of dirt and debris blocked the entrance.

When they arrived at the stall, the two women were horrified to see how bad the dog’s condition was. Lazarus’s coat was so dirty that he could hardly move. Lazarus was immediately taken to the barbershop for a bath and a haircut. At first, the dog refused to let the owner cut his hair. He quickly realized how amazing it would feel to do so.

Lazarus had about 33 pounds of fur cut off, and looked like a brand new pet. Unfortunately, the dog had trouble remembering that he had been rescued. Jessica Kincheloe, the groomer who rescued Lazarus, said the dog was extremely suspicious of people.
A moment later, another dog approached the man. He was given food and quickly became acquainted with people. It was clear that he was not used to human contact. It may have been years since he felt a gentle, caring touch.

Lazarus was at Big Fluffy Dog Rescue for a few weeks before he was adopted. He couldn’t walk at first, but with the right therapy and training, he was able to take his first steps. It didn’t take long for this little guy to find a good home. His new family celebrated his eighth birthday by giving him all the love he deserved. You’d never guess he was once a 35-pound piece of junk when he now has an adorable coat of fur and a wonderful family to care for him!
