Discounted Chevy Bolt EV, 600km BMW iX, Michigan-made Cadillac Celestiq: Car News Today

General Motors is making sure the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV costs at least as much as the upcoming 2023 versions. One startup claims it can increase the range of the BMW iX to 600 miles. And Cadillac plans to build its electric flagship Celestiq in Michigan – by hand. This and more, at Green Car Reports.

GM revealed that its technology hub in Warren, Michigan, will be the home of Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan. That’s where it’ll be hand-crafted and include over 100 parts that will be 3D printed — so look out for this flagship EV that’s rare and exclusive, despite being built on the same dynamic platform. Ultium propulsion like other upcoming EVs from GM. The Celestiq will launch in July, but GM has yet to reveal when it will be built and sold.

Michigan-based startup Our Next Energy (ONE) will use the BMW iX electric SUV as a demonstrator for its new hybrid chemical battery technology, called Gemini. Set to use one chemical to provide energy and the other to store energy, ONE claims that it will activate 600 miles of range in iX—Riding conditions or cycles have not been confirmed.

If you’ve been waiting for the lower-priced 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV to hit dealers, GM has made it clear that it’s open to a deal with its existing 2022 inventory, with Chevy Bolt EV and EUV discounts in 2022 are $5,900 and $6,300respectively – their discounts for 2023. In an electric vehicle market where there are few cost reductions, this is remarkable.
