Diego Pacheco stops Manuel Gallegos for four

DAZN presented some exciting boxing matches live from Monterrey, Mexico’s Cintermex on Friday night. The main event was a super-middle throw-in between rising contender Diego Pacheco and heavyweight Manuel Gallegos. The match, scheduled for ten, was mainly seen as a performance for the unbeaten Pacheco, 18-0, although Gallegos 9-1-1 was seen as a young and exciting opponent. On paper, at least, the fight isn’t a walk in the park for Los Angeles’ Pacheco. With that said, Pacheco was able to finish off Gallegos before mid-game, knocking and stopping his man in the fourth round.
Considering the fact that Gallegos is a solid competitor for Pacheco at this point in Pacheco’s career, the 22-year-old’s victory was greeted with nods of approval. Of course, he’s in an extremely challenging division, one that features the likes of Canelo Alvarez, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant among others. However, as a member of the new generation of boxing, Pacheco is being viewed as a fighter worth watching. Suffice it to say, promoter – and Matchroom Promotions honoree – Eddie Hearn is pleased with Friday night’s results. He now hopes to prepare his boxer for another bout this year, supposedly one against an opponent in the top 20 of the tournament.
