capcom updated it Platinum title ratings to reflect sales figures as of December 31, 2022. A platinum title is a game that has surpassed one million copies sold worldwide. The most recent game on the list is from 2021, so the majority of the platinum titles are still old games from previous years.
The list of the top ten as of December 2022 is:
- Monster Hunter: World (18.6 million units)
- Monster Hunter Rises (11.7 million units)
- Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (11.7 million units)
- Resident Evil 2: Remake (11.2 million units)
- Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (10 million units)
- Evil 5 (8.6 million units)
- Evil 6 (8.6 million units)
- Devil’s Village (7.4 million units)
- Street Warrior (7 million units)
- Devil Can Cry 5 (6.5 million units)
In November 2022, Devil Can Cry 5 sell 6.1 million units keep it out of the Top 10 list. At the time, Street Warrior II was in tenth place. The words Street Warrior II no longer available though, Devil Can Cry 5 was able to get over it with time. Currently, all of Capcom’s platinum titles come from established series like Evil inhabitant and Street Fighter.
With highly anticipated games like Evil 4 redo and Street Warrior VIas well as active updates for games like Monster Hunter RisesCapcom is likely to continue its success in the future.
