But that’s not all.
Every time a dog is adopted from the shelter, the theme song “Golden Girls” plays softly as the dog leaves the building.
“It’s like when you’re in the hospital, you hear a lullaby, someone just had a baby – when you hear the ‘Golden Girls’ theme, you know a dog is leaving Detroit Dog Rescue, ” Kristina Rinaldi, CEO of DDR, told FOX2. “Thank them for being friends and wish them good health.”
The sweet tribute brought tears to many followers. Person commented, “Just thinking about the song that plays when a dog leaves for its new home brings tears to my eyes!!”
Again speak, “It was a great idea and a great way to pay tribute to someone who, even after her death, had a huge impact on America.”
The shelter thanks everyone who contributed, and ends the post by saying, “We are so happy to honor Betty White, the golden girl of the animal world forever!”

Over the past ten years, DDR has been saving stray dogs that most people consider “impossible to catch.” The dogs are given a second chance thanks to the compassionate staff who take the time to train and rehabilitate the dogs before bringing them in.
