Despite being sick and hungry, the street dog still shares his only piece of bread
Despite being abandoned, hungry and sick, the little dog wagged his tail to the rescuers, wanting to share his only morsel of food. It was almost as if he knew the importance of the moment of being rescued and he was saying “thank you” to his saviors.
Because if they hadn’t arrived on time, the poor dog probably wouldn’t have lived much longer.
The puppy is so small that a slice of its bread is almost half its size. It’s almost as big as him! So it’s incredibly endearing to see him trying to share while also being deeply heartbroken.
Gunnar has been left alone, burned by humans before, but he still wants to share with strangers. Plus, the image of this adorable little boy being left alone in the cold, forced to fend for himself, really makes you want to cry.
But luckily, this sweet guy was saved by Sidewalk Specials, and he’ll never have to yearn for love again.
When examined by the vet, they discovered that Gunnar was only seven weeks old. He was severely anemic, had a tick-bite fever, and had one of the worst tick and worm infestations they had ever seen.
“We were there in time for him,” said one of his rescuers.
If he continues to live outside, alone, without food for much longer, who knows how long he will survive?
Gunnar spent a night at the vet and then got “everything clear” to go to a foster home. But he only stayed with his adoptive family for a week before finding a family of his own. The pint-sized puppy settled in right away with his new pack without much adjustment time.
Having never seen a lawn, Gunnar was extremely curious. He finds that he enjoys running and chasing his ball all day. I also developed an obsession with rocks, but not just any type of rock. They must be what he considers “the perfect rock”. Whether in the backyard or on the beach, Gunnar searches for the perfect rock, then proudly presents it to his family.
“He’s definitely our little rock star,” said Gunnar’s mother Freya.
His family even started fostering so he can enjoy playing time with the puppy, and Gunnar has proven himself to be a great foster brother!
