Michigan is still gloating over its win over Ohio State this year. Desmond Howard may have gone too far.
During Saturday’s Heisman Trophy, Michigan defensive back Aidan Hutchinson said his goal for 2021 is to come back, beat Ohio State and win the Big Ten championship. After Hutchinson said that, Tim Tebow stepped forward and thanked Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett for being between Hutchinson and Buckeyes defender CJ Stroud.
“I’m glad you’re among them. It’s good. Stay there,” Tebow said.
Howard, a Michigan alum and a 1991 Heisman Prize winner, responded, “Better than those defending his attack.”

Robert Griffin III said that Howard “just threw them under the bus.”
Howard’s statement was a strange shot at Stroud and Ohio State on a night that should have been meant to celebrate the achievements of the Heisman finalists.
Hutchinson finished second in the polls by Heisman and Stroud finished fourth, with Alabama quarterback Bryce Young winning the award and Pickett in third.

Howard isn’t entirely wrong in calling the defenders of Ohio State, especially when it comes to protecting Stroud from Hutchinson. Focus on professional football said Hutchinson pressured Stroud 15 times in Michigan’s 42-27 win, the QB’s biggest pressure on a player since the site began tracking the index. Hutchinson finished the game with the highest three bags of the season, giving him 14 times a year. He’s had 15.5 tackles conceded and a total of 58 tackles this season.
The Wolverines will face Georgia at the Orange Bowl on December 31 in their first ever Collegiate Soccer Round.
Stroud is largely at fault for Ohio State’s loss. He finished the game with a finish rate of 69.4, a 394-yard pass and two touchdowns. He has no interception. The red shirt freshman ended the regular season with a completion rate of 70.9, 38 touchdowns and five interceptions. He and the Buckeyes will play Utah in the Rose Bowl on January 1.

Howard and Michigan fans have certainly enjoyed the opportunity to trash talk with Ohio State since the win, which went on an eight-game Buckeyes winning streak in the series and gave the Wolverines their third win before Buckeyes since 2001.
