Pakita’s situation seemed dire as she spent her days confined to a kennel, leading to sadness, withdrawal, and significant weight loss due to her refusal to eat. The volunteers at El Arca Animal Partido de Mar Chiquita were deeply troubled by her condition. Despite their persistent efforts over two years, they struggled to find her a home. They turned to social media, aiming to share her photo and bio on Facebook, but encountered resistance as Pakita trembled and retreated to the corner, making it challenging to capture her image.

Then a miracle happened!
“Immediately, we get a message from a woman saying that the dog was her son’s and that he had been looking for her!” Ferreyra told The Dodo.
Ariel Naveira had resigned himself to the fact that Pakita would never return to him after all this time. However, his hopes were unexpectedly rekindled when his mother saw the Facebook post about Pakita. Although he couldn’t believe it, Ariel decided to visit the shelter the next day, just in case. When the volunteers brought out Pakita and showed her to Ariel, he immediately recognized her. Pakita, on the other hand, seemed hesitant and uneasy at first as she sniffed around, but eventually, the realization dawned on her, and she reunited with Ariel, creating a heartwarming moment captured in a video.
