Deebo Samuel Injury Update: 49ers WR ruled out against Vikings with groin injury
49ers wide reception Deebo Samuel was having a solid game on Sunday when he had to leave the field at the end of the third half with a groin injury. He did not return to the game that San Francisco won 34-26.
Samuel was hit for losing 6 yards in a run and then remained on the ground. He took off his helmet and got to his knees before he could go to the medical tent. After being tested, he stood on the sidelines near coach Kyle Shanahan with a towel on his head.

Prior to his injury, Samuel became the first wide-ball receiver in NFL history to hit a record 1,000 yards of receiving, five touchdowns, and five hasty touches in a single season. He scored in 20- and 3-yard runs on Sunday against the Vikings. He also became the first scorer to score five hasty touches in a season since the Super Bowl era began in 1966, surpassing Tavon Austin’s four in 2015.

He finished the game with six hits for 66 yards and two hasty touchdowns, going with a 12-yard reception.
Samuel’s five hasty touches are also more than the rushing TDs of several stars running back, including Dalvin Cook, Christian McCaffrey, Aaron Jones, Alvin Kamara, David Montgomery and Saquon Barkley.
