Deathloop’s third major update is on PlayStation 5 today! Game Update 3 introduces a brand new Photo Mode, added accessibility options, unique PlayStation 5 avatars, and more, all for free.

Photo mode
Express yourself with a variety of filters, stickers, poses, and other customization options in Deathloop’s all-new Photo Mode. Only available in single-player, Photo Mode is accessible via the Pause menu in any map or by activating the Photo Mode shortcut. To enable keyboard shortcuts on PS5:
- Preferences > Controls > ‘Controllers’ tab > Quick access to Photo Mode > Yes
- While in game, double-tap the Create button (the button to the left of the trackpad) on your DualSense controller to open Photo Mode
“This Photo Mode is a great way to let our players get creative using Deathloop’s unique art and levels,” said producer Jeremy Leulier. “The only creative limits are determined by the imagination of our players. We’re excited at Arkane to see how deeply players will delve into all the different options and what they’ll come up with. ”
In addition to being able to choose your filters and angles like a pro, you can swap between Colt and Julianna, changing your outfit and weapons (including specific weapon variations and skin), and drop into more than a dozen poses worthy of sharing.
“One of our biggest challenges was adapting Photo Mode for a first-person shooter where your character wasn’t shown beyond hands and weapons,” explains Leulier. “We wanted to give this mode the best possible experience and took the time to play it thoroughly and even asked players to be experts in using other Photo Modes. each other in the game. We had so much fun testing Photo Mode that we added a lot of relevant options for players to make it more fun and enjoyable to use. ”

Accessibility features
“We are really grateful to the players and allied community who gave us so much feedback when Deathloop was released,” said Lead UI/UX Designer Yoann Bazoge. “We took the time to read all the accessibility reviews and watch videos of players explaining why they couldn’t play Deathloop. We then worked on a document that listed all of the feedback and outlined a roadmap for what additions would be for Game Update 3.”
Game Update 3 introduces over 30 enhancements and adds accessibility options, from improved menu navigation and interface options to a host of new gameplay options. The update also adds a dedicated Accessibility category, which you can find in the options menu. This new menu includes existing options as well as many new options available with this update, including:
- New gameplay settings allow players to further customize combat in Single Player Mode (mostly not available for Online or Friends modes). This includes increasing or decreasing the battle difficulty, adjusting the number of reprisals, and slowing down the game speed.
- New HUD and caption options, such as customizing the size, opacity, and color of various text and graphic elements
- Easier menu navigation, allowing the directional buttons on the controller to be used to navigate the menu list up and down. Now, the pointer speed can also be adjusted in the settings to help navigate the settings with the controller.
“One of the things we didn’t expect when we started using accessibility features was how some of these options could be useful and enjoyable for everyone,” says Bakaba. “My favorite is slow motion, which allows people to do a near-impossible sequence of actions and recounts, allowing you to experiment with no consequences with infinite settings. Conversely, you can use the number of Reprises turns to make the game more difficult by turning off Reprises completely. “
“Accessibility in games is a complex topic,” says Bazoge. “We estimate that over 400 million players need extra support while playing. That is great number of who may feel left out without some of these options. When we started discussing it with our teams, people were very motivated about the idea of developing all of this.”
