A new fare promotion is currently offering the chance to fly to Costa Rica at a huge discount. Several airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines, have flights to the tropical country for as little as $212 round-trip.

Thanks to its wildly diverse landscape, Costa Rica offers visitors a wide variety of activities. Whether you’re hiking or ziplining through lush rainforests or surfing some of the most beautiful beaches, you’ll find no shortage of activities to do in Costa Rica. Plus, the country is also known as a pioneer of ecotourism.

This deal includes flights to both San Jose (the capital of Costa Rica) and Liberia, Costa Rica. San Jose is the geographic and cultural center of the country, with plenty of museums, theaters, and other attractions to build your itinerary around. On the other hand, adventurous travelers and beach lovers will likely be enticed by the promotional fare to Liberia, located in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province near lush rainforests and popular spots like Playa Hermosa. The flight window for the discounted fares is from late August through February of next year, but the best available time is in fall 2024. Flights in this sale from Baltimore and Washington, DC have stops and are basic economy fares. There are also direct flights from Miami.

Let’s start with direct flights from Miami. American has multiple direct flights from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San Jose in September and October. For these round-trip options, you’ll see prices starting at $212.

If you live in Baltimore and can travel on relatively short notice, you can get great airfare deals to Liberia, Costa Rica. American has flights from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) to Guanacaste Airport (LIR) in Liberia for just $239 round-trip in late August.

Yes, this itinerary includes a layover, but according to Google Flights data, this is a great price for this itinerary.

United also has round-trip flights from Baltimore to Liberia for $263 in December. This is a great time to visit Costa Rica as the weather is generally mild and dry.

Flights to Liberia from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Washington, DC, are available on United for $246 round-trip. Like the Baltimore route, this flight also includes one stop each way.
