de Saint-Seine Elected President of France Galop
The 56 members of the France Galop committee met Dec. 12 and elected Guillaume de Saint-Seine as the new president of France Galop for a four-year term that starts immediately.
Saint-Seine received 29 votes and was elected in the second round.
The prior president, Edouard de Rothschild, who has been in charge of French racing for 16 of the last 20 years, did not seek re-election. Rothschild was first elected president of France Galop in 2003, serving two terms until 2011, when Bertrand Belinguier defeated him. He ran again in 2015 and returned as president.
Guillaume de Saint-Seine biography
Saint-Seine, aged 62, is based in Paris. He has bred and owned racehorses for nearly 35 years. He has been a member of France Galop’s committee since 2015 and was a member of the board from 2016-2019.
Saint-Seine has spent most of his career in the financial services sector in Paris and London, at the heart of French and international banking institutions. He currently is a member of the executive committee of his institution, in charge of relationships with major clients, mainly in the financial and sovereign institutions sector.
He is a graduate of IEP Paris and holds a post-graduate degree in finance from Paris IX Dauphine University.
France Galop is a non-profit organization that manages and controls the Thoroughbred horse racing industry in France.
