Danny Garcia will be back on July 30

Not long ago, Danny Garcia was one of the biggest names in fighting games. He loves men like Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse. Pauli Malignaggi, Erik Morales and Zab Judah. After his reign as the lightweight champion athlete, the Philly native stepped forward and tried his hand at the 147-pound weight class. He wasn’t playing bad at all, but lost in close skirmishes to Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, the top two operators, respectively. However, after giving up his decision on welterweight terrorist Errol Spence at the end of 2020, the boxer dubbed “Swift” decided to take a break.
Now, ESPN reports that the man is poised to make a comeback, moving up to middleweight to face Jose Benevidez on July 30 en route from his hometown of Philadelphia, at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center. Now in her 30s, Garcia 36-3 is looking to start a new chapter in an impressive professional career. Of course, 27-1-1 Benavidez hopes to spoil the party. At 30, the Phoenix-born boxer has an impressive resume, having lost only once to Terence Crawford. However, Benevidez has only fought once in the past three years, meaning he is arguably less active than Garcia.
