Daily Harvest, a home delivery service, has issued a recall for lentils and leeks breaded, after many customers complained on social media of stomach problems after eating them.
Users on Reddit, Twitter and Instagram have reported feeling nauseous, vomiting and liver damage after eating this dish.
One Reddit user said their wife had symptoms, such as “extreme fatigue, dark urine, low-grade fever and body itching, no rash.”
Another user said their mother was “sick as a dog and vomiting a lot” a day after eating the beans.
The company released a statement Sunday advising consumers to throw away the dish and said it has contacted all customers who received it..
“We simultaneously opened an investigation with internal and external experts throughout our supply chain and followed legal procedures,” it said. “We will share more information as it becomes available.”
Daily Harvest posted a link to the statement for its 600,000 Instagram followers with the caption, “An important message regarding our French Lentil + Garlic grind. Link in bio with details,” the company received further backlash.
“Why not include an important message in the caption? Your social aesthetic is more important than the health of your consumers?” one person said.
“This dubious caption proves that Daily Harvest doesn’t care about the health of its customers, even though the brand is supposed to be a healthy choice,” another said.
Daily Harvest is a food registrar founded in 2015 under the brand name of incorporating only healthy products – free of pesticides, fertilizers and other synthetic chemicals – in our dishes. me.
