Cursed to Golf launches today on PS5 and PS4 – PlayStation.Blog

The time has finally come, Cursed to Golf launches TODAY on PS5 and PS4. It took 2 years of hard work and passion to get here. The team and I are incredibly proud of our game and we hope you all take our virtual trip to the afterlife to live out your days in Golf Purgatory. Last time I was here I talked about the general rules of supernatural golf, the incredible power of the aces, and some of the fiends you can get in between the holes. Today, let’s go down and get dirty with some of the more dangerous elements of Cursed to Golf. After all, if you want to get out of Golf Purgatory, you have to take some risks.

A split screen of three different bosses is located at the end of each biome: Scotsman, Discoverer, Forgotten One. Four positions have a question mark.

Who is the boss?

At the end of each biome is its final challenge – the Legendary Caddy oversees that part of the course. In Purgatory you will find the Scotsman, in the Desert you will face the Explorer, and the Caves are the home of the Forgotten One. These golf matches blend the gameplay a bit and offer a few differences from the traditional golfing you’ll encounter on the rest of the course. Not only do you have to keep tabs on your shot counter, but you also need to defeat the boss by sinking your ball before them. However, in addition to Idol Shoots that replenish your shots, these battles include Stun Idols. Smashing through one of these kills the boss, causing them to miss a turn.

These golfers don’t play around, hitting unbelievable shots that defy the laws of physics! If you want to take down a Legendary Staff, you need to master your Aces Cards, use the best shortcuts, and make sure to kill a bunch of totems on your way to the flagpole. Luckily, the boss hole will always stay the same, so you can learn it as you play and experiment to find the best strategy for completing it.

Our golf hero takes on The Scotsman.

High Road or Low Road?

Scotsman’s hole was designed for his signature long shots. It’s also fraught with dangers and shortcuts up and down, so don’t forget to use your Birdie Eye to get some real land and plan the path you want to take. Defeating the Scotsman unlocks the “Comeback” benefit, giving you the chance to set a checkpoint flag once per run. After your (almost certain) death, instead of being booted back to the beginning of the course, you’ll be returned to your flag. Not only that, you’ll have all the Aces and cash you had when you originally placed it, ready for another shot at the course!

Sand Dunes Sea

The Adventurer’s Pit is a dune nightmare, wait to perfect your wedge game there, because you’ll land constantly in the bunker. On top of that, The Explorer has a special ability – she can change the hole in the middle of it being played. You might land in a suspiciously flat and safe area, only to find a towering dune jutting out of the ground in front of you, sheesh! Defeating the Discoverer gives you the “Gimmie” benefit, which gives you 5 more shots when your hit count reaches 0. This powerful benefit refreshes every hole, so don’t feel precious about it. it.

Explorer's boss prevented our golf hero from following them and issued a challenge:

Not the Cave of Wonders

The Forgotten’s Hole is a deep, cavernous maze filled with divergent paths, carefully placed hazards, and crafty false flagpoles that house golf-ball-eating dinosaurs. You will not only fight The Forgotten but also her two pet birds Eagle and Albatross. These scoundrels will stop at nothing to make sure The Forgotten beats you. If you land in one of their zones, they’ll throw your ball into the rift, causing you to lose your shots and put you in difficult positions for your next shot.

They’ll also take The Forgotten’s ball and fly over her tricky obstacles, dropping her into opportunistic locations for the next shot. There’s no way to beat it, it’s an uphill battle, but if you win, you’ll unlock the “Recovery” benefit. With Recovery, on death you’ll be able to keep your trump deck and use it on your next run, giving you a big leg at the start of Hole 1. Because we’re not guys full autopilot, once a boss is defeated you don’t need to face them again in future runs and you can keep their gains as well.

A blessing or a curse?

Speaking of masochists, those who really want to risk the cookie can join the CURSED HOLES! You’ll often find these at intersections when you’re navigating the map between holes. One route may have a pick up hole and a standard hole, while another will give you add-ons and a skullcap at the end of that route. These damn holes mix things up by triggering random modifiers every few shots. These ‘curses’ can include making your ball bounce more for a few hits, restricting you from being able to shoot in only one direction, turning the pitch upside down and other nasty obstacles to the game. your. Beating a cursed hole will earn you extra cash and a card booster pack. In Golf Purgatory, the saying is true – high risk, high reward.
