Joshua Q. Nelson report that one “interfaceted climate scientist” compared pollution to “a dog’s fart” when explaining her approach to thinking about climate change.
A TikToker named Dr. Chandler Puritty, who claims to be “Interferometric climate scientist” used a metaphor from the book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” which featured a three-headed dog guarding a trapdoor.
“I’m a climate scientistand I’m here to explain to you why we’re definitely getting this under control and why so many of the stories that we see mostly from white men and professionals are so wrong. doom and gloom,” said TikToker.
She proceeded to declare that Fluffy the three-headed dog in the Harry Potter series represents capitalism, colonialism, and white supremacy – all three of which she considers barriers to problem-solving Climate Change.
“OK, so you have this three-legged dog. Three-headed dog. Now this dog’s heart is CO2. YES. Carbon dioxide gas. White scientists are telling us that the reason every time we send someone to get the Sorcerer’s Stone, the cure for climate change, from under the trapdoor is to make the room less farting smell instead of completely eliminating the dog,” Purity says. “Take it as you will.”
Videos on Purity’s TikTok account has over 180,000 views, has also been shared on Libs of TikTok.
Puritty previously made another video claiming that science is subjective.
“I am often criticized for what I have learned and my ideas that say I am being subjective. While the reality is that we are all subjective. But white men can ignore the fact that they are being subjective because they are the normal, basic thing – because their subjectivity has been normalized,” she said.
