Colts’ Yannick Ngakoue undergoes throat surgery, admitted to IR
University of Indianapolis passers-by Yannick Ngakoue will undergo throat surgery and has been placed on the injured reserve.
Ngakoue, 27, was injured in last Monday’s loss Los Angeles charger but was not added to the injury report until Friday before quickly transitioning from out to IR on Saturday morning.
He was engaged in a full workout before experiencing an upset in his throat. It was determined that Ngakoue would need a procedure after consulting with the doctor on the team, according to Colts.
Ngakoue finished her first season in Indianapolis with 9.5 sacks and a forced fumble after joining the Colts in a deal in March.
In a corresponding move, the Colts signed the defense Kameron Cline to a list of 53 people from their practice team.
