College Soccer Odds: CFP Title Game Line for Georgia-TCU

Could be the number 1 Georgia bulldog (14-0) become the first repeat college football national champion in a decade?

Or will it be the number 3 Horned Frog TCU (13-1) completed their Cinderella season by winning them all?

The Bulldogs and Horned Frogs will compete for the national championship on Monday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

In terms of odds, Georgia opens with 13.5 favorites at Bet FOXwith an open Over/Under (total) ratio of 61.5.

According to FOX Sports Research, this is the largest point spread for any College Football Game or BCS Championship. The previous peak was reached when Miami was 12 points ahead of Ohio State in the 2002 BCS Championship Game.

The defending champions advance to the CFP title match by overtaking 4th place Buckeye State of Ohio 42-41 in a horror movie at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 31.

The Bulldogs won when the Buckeyes missed a potentially winning goal at 50 yards with three seconds left.

Before that, Horned Frogs got promoted by surpassing the 2nd place team Michigan Werewolf 51-45 during the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

Can Georgia become the national champion?

Joel Klatt Discusses Georgia Bulldogs Join TCU Horned Frogs on Monday

Pick through FOX’s NFL Sports Analyst Geoff Schwartz:

The stars matter, and Georgia has more than that. Football can often be complicated, or at least we make it feel that way. However, college football can be simple in that respect. The team with the better players usually wins. I know, not rocket science. In this case, Georgia has better players.

Bulldogs are better in both attack and defence. Georgia has better technical players and better talent in defence.

TCU has a more dynamic midfielder in it Max Dugan can move the ball with his feet, but Stetson Bennett throw a better ball. Now, having better players doesn’t bring luck or even guarantee you’ll win a game without effort and mistakes. But, if Georgia plays hard and TCU plays hard, then Georgia has an all-court advantage.

PICK: Georgia (-12.5 at FOX Bets at the time of selection) to win over 12.5 points

Selection via Gambling Analyst Sam Panayotovich:

I’m shortening Frog’s offense for the first quarter.

It’s virtually impossible to run in Georgia – the Bulldogs only allow 77 yards of charge per game – and I expect TCU midfielder Max Duggan to soon struggle against disguised shields from his “spread” defence. Kirby Smart.

Sure, Ohio State scored the first-quarter goal in the national semifinals, but the Buckeyes have the potential to be selected No. 1 in the 2023 NFL Draft in quarterback and three wide receivers will also play on Sunday. TCU’s attack doesn’t contain that much talent and it will take time for the Horned Frogs to reach the end zone.

A goose egg or goal will do the trick.

PICK: TCU 1Q Under 5.5 (-105 at FOX Bets, bet $10 to win a total of $19.52)

Big time players take big time turns in big time games.

Brock Bowers is Georgia’s top catcher this season, with six points in 14 games. It’s not a high number, but I’ll take advantage of his relatively low scoring record and drink some juice on the national stage.

The 6-foot-4 from Napa, California, stands out in the open field, and boy, does he have a knack for finding holes in defence. And assuming Georgia establishes a running track early and often, the opportunity to play plays for midfielder Stetson Bennett will be many.

Other sportsbooks have Bowers at -125 and -150 for any touchdown, so take advantage of this generous price at FOX Bet.

PICK: Brock Bowers Anytime TD (-105 at FOX Bets, bet $10 to win $19.52 total)

Let me start by admitting that I bet on TCU in last week’s CFP semi-final vs Michigan.

I still can’t believe Jim Harbaugh called him “Philly Special” on the TCU’s 2-yard line after Michigan bullied his way down the field in the opening game. That decision unraveled the Wolverines’ early game plans, and they never really recovered until the second half.

Clearly, Frog deserves all the recognition in the world – and then some – for making this point. But the buck stops here.

Georgia’s combination of skill and speed would be too much for TCU to handle in four quarters. This is an experienced team full of NFL talent from across the field. Also, let’s not underestimate how TCU basically went its way against Michigan and the Frog barely escaped.

This game gives me serious vibes about the 2013 country title game when Alabama close the door Notre Dame in the first half on the way to a 42-14 stomp.

PICK: Georgia (-12.5 at FOX Bets at the time of selection) to win over 12.5 points
