The Nintendo Switch is a pretty cool system for indie games. Something small and manageable. It should be fine on PC or the type of console that requires a TV. But there is something incredibly convenient and light about the mobility opportunity. The Rattan garden Switch ports are perfect for that kind of experience.
For those who missed it on other platforms, Rattan garden It’s both a puzzle game and a sandbox experience. During the campaign, you go through different post-apocalyptic scenes. In each, the world is crumbling and filled with the remains of those who came before. Players can plant seeds. Then you put more debris and items around to encourage the plant to grow. As they do, you can collect their flowers and decorations to eventually earn more seeds.
Your goal is to fill a certain percentage of each area with greenery. Once you do, you unlock the next. You will also earn any items or seeds found in the previous stage for the freestyle, custom gardens you may have. Finally, you will also get tools to make sucking plant parts easier to get more seeds. There is also a saw for trimming. Not to mention you can recall some of the set items to reframe the scene.
So, as to why this is so great on Switch, it’s because everything in Rattan garden‘nature suits it. Its aesthetic does not focus on highly detailed images. This means there aren’t any compromises. It’s not like the Xbox or PC version looks much better than the Switch version. It is comparable. It also works well in terms of controls. It’s easy to tap, place, and adjust to set things up just the way you want. Its nature makes it easy to pick up and go. Creating and sharing screenshots is simple. Also, the port runs fine on the system.
It also matches some of the contemporaneous applications already on the platform. For example, anyone with Townscaper on their Switch will probably like Rattan garden also. It’s the same kind of vibe. Yes, there can be multiple points and goals here. But it’s all about building something in your spare time, and generally more about aesthetics than any kind of goal.
Rattan garden simply fits Nintendo Switch. It does not require. This means it runs fine on the system. It also means it doesn’t take up too much of your time and can be played when someone is free. It is just an oasis of relaxation.
