Why is climate ‘doomism’ so viral – and who is against it?

Even Australia’s newly elected government won’t do anything significant on emissions – because green solutions don’t work. They will make noise about shutting down coal, maybe closing a coal station or two, killing a few big companies, then panicking as electricity prices skyrocket, inward investment collapses and tax dollars run dry.
So the part about “but we have to adapt and we have to stop emitting. ” will not happen. In the context of their limited understanding, advocates are more rational than activists.
The only question is, how many people commit to “catch a bus” Soon?

At any moment, a crazy but charismatic climatologist can publish the ultimate TikTok video and trigger a wave of imitations. I doubt it will be Charles McBryde – he seems too narcissistic to end his show early. But there are some sick people out there, and some of them have some of the latter.
We had clear evidence that young people are acting on their climate pessimismaccept life-destructive choices because they truly believe there is no hope.
Honestly, I would rather climate advocates go back to climate activism than continue embracing climateism – at least climate activists have a mission, they have something to live for. People can learn from their mistakes, if they still live to do so.
