Clear Creek Adds Issue Forum to Stallion Show
Clear Creek Stud, near Folsom, La., is hosting an annual stallion showcase and providing a forum for Louisiana’s Thoroughbred community to share concerns and ideas with political leaders this week. December 3 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm
Attending the event will be Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner, Dr. Mike Strain, State Senator Beth Mizell, executive director of Louisiana Horsemen’s Protection and Benevolence Association Ed Fenasci, LAHBPA president Benard Chatters, owner Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association president Warren Harang and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, lead litigator on the staff of the Louisiana Attorney General.
The highlight of the day will be the presentation of Clear Creek Stud’s 2023 stallion list, which includes:
- It’s clear now (Horse Greeley—Bend, of Arch) is a multi-millionaire winning bet. His first ponies just started running, with his first winner, Now I see clearly broke his daughter 4 3/4 length on October 29 at Delta Downs with 6 1/2 long distance,
- Customization for Carlos (More Than Ready—Meadow Oaks, by Meadowlake) is the leader of the Louisiana hybrids in 2022 and the state’s third leader overall until Nov. 17. His current leader , Janet is ready . She placed second in DS Shine Young Futurity.
- royal hint (Imperialism —Royal Hint, of Lahint) is a multi-millionaire, four-time tier 1 bet and set a record six long lines at Racecourse Saratoga in the 2019 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1), where he stops the chronograph at 1:07.92. Earlier in his career, he equaled a six-way track record of 1:07.55 at The Parx . Race in 2017. His first crop will be the annual crop in 2023,
- Mr. Money (gold coin —Plenty O’Toole, by Tiznow) is an exciting new addition to the Clear Creek Stud roster. As the top-ranked multi-stakes winner at the 1st grade level, he is one of only two Goldencents sons studying anywhere. His first crop was seedlings in 2023,
- Guitar Star (The Quiet American—Minit Towinit, of Malagra) completes the 2023 stallion list. Clearly the best Louisiana crossbred jockey in history, the Star Guitar was Louisiana’s top stallion in 2018 and has consistently been among the top five since then. With seven crops to run, he has 43 pile horses so far, including three graded pile horses — 2nd place winner Minit to Stardom grade 1 Givemeaminite and rated 3 Egg loaded . This year, the stallion was represented by stake winners Behemah Star and Ova Charged.
A prepared lunch buffet will be served starting at 11:30am, with a stallion show starting at 12:00pm. A family-friendly event that will feature horseback riding, Santa Claus and plenty of kids activities to entertain younger guests
