Christian McCaffrey Injury Update: Panthers RB spotted in walk-in warm-up after loss to Dolphins
Christian McCaffrey was once again defeated. The Panthers’ back-running star injured his ankle during Carolina’s 33-10 loss to Miami in Week 12.
McCaffrey was never announced or listed in the Panthers’ injury report at any point during the game. However, he played cautiously – scoring a No. 10 carrying 35 yards and scoring no goals – and coach Matt Rhule admitted that McCaffrey flipped his ankle in the first half.

McCaffrey has faced an ankle injury before. He missed six games due to a high ankle sprain in 2020. He missed another seven games in that concussion campaign due to a shoulder injury.
So far in 2021, McCaffrey has proven brittle again. He has missed five games due to a hamstring injury and is currently dealing with an ankle injury that could keep him off the field.

If McCaffrey has to miss time, rookie Chuba Hubbard will once again be the frontrunner for the Panthers. Hubbard was back to No. 1 for the Panthers when McCaffrey was out and he averaged 83.4 shots per game at the start. Ameer Abdullah will be Hubbard’s main backup.
