Chery Omoda 5 2024 Price and Specifications

Chery has expanded Omoda 5 scope for 2024.

UPDATE, 7/2/24 – We have updated this article with details on the new entry-level FX and revised pricing.

A pair of more powerful GT models began arriving at dealerships in January and February, featuring the same equipment levels as the previous EX flagship but with a more powerful turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and a multi-link rear suspension instead of a torsion bar.

However, apart from different materials on the center console and some different exterior badging, they are no different from the EX trim.

It can be distinguished more clearly as Entry Level FXloses features like LED headlights and taillights and faux leather upholstery for a retail price of $27,990 — $6,000 less than the BX model that kicked off the line.

You can order the FX now, although in a small footnote, Chery notes that this price will apply until July 31, 2024, or while stocks last.

Omoda 5 models get new frameless rear-view mirrors with auto-dimming for 2024, along with DAB+ digital radio and a more powerful 50W phone charger. The new FX doesn’t get frameless mirrors and wireless charging.

Initially, Chery announced a price increase of $1,500 for the BX and $1,000 for the EX, but later adjusted the prices. Details are below.

The range will be further expanded in the second half of this year. with Omoda E5electric version of the compact crossover.

Transmission system

The Chery Omoda 5 2024 is available with two engine options.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Gasoline engines in FX, BX and EX production 108kW of power and 210Nm maximum torque and only available with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.

The 1.6-liter turbocharged four in production GT models 137kW And 275Nm and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel or four-wheel drive is available, and includes automatic stop/start functionality.

The Omoda 5 is equipped with 283mm ventilated front disc brakes and 263mm solid rear discs in BX and EX versions, with GT-badged models upgraded to 308mm ventilated front disc brakes and 313mm solid rear disc brakes.

Chery Omoda 5 2024 used 6.9L/100km on the combined cycle with the 1.5 liter engine, 6.8L/100km in front-wheel-drive GT form and 7.4L/100km in the all-wheel drive GT version.

All models have a 51L fuel tank. The 1.5-litre models require 91 RON regular unleaded fuel, while the 1.6-litre models require 95 RON premium unleaded fuel.

All models meet Euro 6 emissions standards. Combined cycle CO2 emissions are 164g/km in the FX, BX and EX, 162g/km in the GT and 176g/km in the GT AWD.

Size

Chery Omoda 5 2024 has dimensions of 4374mm long, 1830mm wide and 1588mm high on a 2610mm wheelbase.

The car has a trunk capacity of 360L, which can be expanded up to 1075L when the rear seats are folded.

Kerb weight is 1393kg in 1.5-litre models, 1430kg in front-wheel-drive GT models and 1535kg in four-wheel-drive GT models.

Maintenance and Warranty

Chery Omoda 5 cars are warranted for seven years, unlimited kilometers.

The company also offers seven years of fixed-price servicing, with mandatory servicing every 12 months or 10,000km for 1.5T models or 12 months or 15,000km for GT and GT AWD.

The Chery Omoda 5 was awarded a five-star safety rating by ANCAP based on testing conducted in 2022.

The car was rated 87% for adult occupant protection, 88% for child occupant protection, 68% for vulnerable pedestrian protection and 83% for safety assist.
