Thieves love to steal iPhones because they can quickly sell them for easy cash. So, we are going to show you the most important privacy settings that you need to change on your iPhone today to prevent them.

First, you need to know that if a thief steals your iPhone, the first thing a smart guy will do is swipe down and turn on airplane mode (then turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Cellular Data). dynamic) so you can’t track it with the Find My app.

But there is an easy way to block them from doing this and here it is.

Turn off Control Center when iPhone is locked

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Face ID & Passcode
  3. Enter your password
  4. Scroll down to the “Allow access when locked” section
  5. Turn off Control Center.

Now, if a thief takes your phone and tries to swipe down to open Control Center, nothing will happen. So you’ll still be tracking your phone with Find My, and that will scare off some thieves from trying to get away with the phone. A thief afraid of being caught can simply drop the phone and then you can get it back using the Find My app.

Note that if you change this setting and try to test it, make sure you’re not looking directly at your phone, or Face ID will recognize you and automatically unlock your phone — so you still have access to your phone. can swipe down. Hold your phone by your side (where Face ID can’t recognize you) and try it out, or give it to a friend or family member and have them try swiping down and accessing the Control Center.
