The newest Celebrity train is often also the Celebrity train with the most bells and whistles as well as the most up-to-date venues, including cabins, restaurants, bars and attractions. It’s what you want if you want the latest and greatest in a ship for your Celebrity Cruises vacation.
Right now, Celebrity’s newest cruise ship is Celebrity Beyond. It just launched in April 2022.
Although Celebrity Beyond is just over a year old, it will soon be replaced by the newest Celebrity Cruises ship by Celebrity Ascent – a very similar ship in the same series of Edge-class ships as Celebrity Beyond. Celebrity Ascent sets sail in December 2023.

Other relatively new popular cruise ships include the pinnacle of celebrityCelebrities Flora and Celebrity. It all started sailing in the last five years.
In total, Celebrity Cruises operates 15 ships. On average, the airline launches a new ship every two years, and it usually keeps the ships in its fleet for about 20 to 30 years before retiring them. The oldest famous ship, Celebrity Millennium, 23 years old.
All in all, Celebrity’s newest ships are larger and have more locations than its older ships. If you’re looking for Celebrity ships with the most restaurants, bars, lounges, and other amenities, you’ll want to choose ships built within the last few years.

That said, the above is a generalization that comes with an asterisk. One of Celebrity’s newest ships, the Celebrity Flora, is also one of its smallest.
With seats for only 100 passengers, Celebrity Flora is one of three very Small ships in the Celebrity fleet operate year-round cruises in the Galapagos. It’s essentially a completely different business for Celebrities than the big, mainstream cruise ship that is at the core of the company.

The oldest famous cruise ship is Celebrity Millennium. It was announced in 2000, right at the turn of the millennium (hence the name).
What new Celebrity Cruises are coming?
Celebrity Cruises currently has two new cruise ships on order. The first ship to arrive will be Celebrity Ascent in December 2023. Next is an unnamed vessel in 2025.
The two Celebrity Cruises to be ordered will be the fourth and fifth ships in the Celebrity’s Edge-class series, which begins shipping in 2018. The first three ships in the series are Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond.

What is the newest Celebrity Cruises ship available for booking?
Celebrity Ascent is the newest Celebrity Cruises ship you can book right now. Although Celebrity Ascent has yet to set sail, the first sailings scheduled for December 2023 have been sold, as well as future voyages through April 2025. Dubbed Celebrity Cruises, ordered for delivery in 2025, it’s not yet open for pre-order.
What is Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship type?
The Edge class is Celebrity Cruises’ newest class of ships. Currently in the pipeline, it will include at least five ships.
The first Edge-class ship, Celebrity Edge, launched in 2018. Two more – Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond – begin sailing in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
The final two ships in the series are currently on order, the Celebrity Ascent and an unnamed sister ship, due to launch in December 2023 and sometime in 2025, respectively.
The Edge-class ships are not only the newest ships in the Celebrity fleet, but also the most advanced in the Celebrity fleet. Designed to carry 2,908 to 3,260 passengers per person with double capacity, each has innovative new features such as “endless porch” cabins with all-glass outward facing walls.
Another innovative feature of the Edge-class ships is the 90-ton platform along each ship’s side known as the Magic Carpet. As large as a tennis court, these platforms are cantilevered over the ship’s side and can be raised and lowered to serve different functions — from a beach bar to a water shuttle boarding area.
What is the difference between the newer and older Celebrity Cruises ships?
Newer Celebrity ships are typically larger than older Celebrity ships – in some cases up to 35% larger. As a result, they have space for multiple locations on board and attractions than the older trains of the line.
For instance, on Celebrity’s newest and largest Edge class ship, Celebrity Beyond, you’ll find an extended stay in a suite called The Retreat not available on smaller ships. in the Edge series or on other older ships in the Celebrity fleet. It offers a new two-story sundeck with hot tub, loungers and private cabanas exclusively for passengers staying in the suites.
Celebrity Beyond also has 179 more cabins than its sister ships, each with 1,467 cabins. As a result, it holds 3,260 passengers with double capacity. This is up from 2,910 passengers with double capacity for Celebrity Apex and 2,908 passengers with double capacity for Celebrity Edge.
In contrast, Celebrity’s oldest Millennium-class ships carry only about 2,100 passengers with double capacity. As a result, they have a more intimate feel, at least in the pantheon of relatively large mass-market ships.
That makes them a good choice for people who want to try Celebrities but don’t want to travel with large crowds. As a result, the oldest ships in the Celebrity fleet attract a small group of Celebrity fans who prefer more intimacy in a cruise ship and don’t mind giving up some of the comforts. on board to get it.
