Canelo Alvarez consistently a favorite for his Saturday night game against Gennady Golovkin (GGG). That’s not a secret. But there are some differences in the odds that you can bet on either one.

We did a little survey, like we usually do before the big games and although the consensus is that you will have to bet 5-1 (-500) on Alvarez, you can get a good price. better if you dig around. For example, one of the “licensed” books (and there aren’t many of those) has him at -450, while in a sportsbook set overseas we found – 440. So if you really love Canelo here, it’s worth it for you.
But do you like the bottom door? GGG has certain prices, the best of which is +430, priced at a licensed book. In general, you can get anything from +350 to +395 on him. That’s the number that would be favorable, IF you don’t think he has grown too old to compete at this level.
Apparently the first two matches had some controversy over them. Most people – at least most people – felt as if GGG had done more than enough to win the first game, which ended in a draw. In the second, you can argue either way.
As for the total number of rounds, there are websites you can visit where you can place bets on any number of different rounds (with different prices, of course). For the purposes of this article, we will use 10.5 rounds as our base.
If you want this fight to go on a number of rounds, you can bid as low as -200 above the “upper” level of 10.5. Most of the locations we’ve reviewed have -210 to -230. If you prefer “under”, you’ll likely find +170 or +175 to be the best odds available.
Alternatively, you can bet straight on whether the match will go all the way to 12 innings. We haven’t done much research when it comes to this, but an international sportsbook showed -150 for the “Yes” clause. For the “No” part, the most attractive price we found was +130.
Want to shoot at the exact lap where it ends? And who will win in that case? If you want to do this, just for fun, for example you are looking at +8000 (80-1) on Canelo and +10000 (100-1) on GGG to end the fight in the first round .
There are also “groups” of rings. Sometimes two rounds, sometimes three or even six. At a popular offshore book, you’ll get a bonus of +650 for Canelo to win between first and sixth rounds, while Golovkin’s +1400 for 7th and 12th innings.
One of the better ways to bet on a war (although this story is for informational purposes only) is to choose the “correct outcome”. And this means that you not only choose the winner, but also choose the method of achieving the victory. So we’ll use an example for the Canelo-GGG fight:
Alvarez by Decision or Technical Decision +110
Alvarez by KO, TKO or DQ +170
Golovkin by Decision or Technical Decision +600
Golovkin by KO, TKO or DQ +925
Drawing or Technical Drawing +1400
For that price, I would go with Alvarez by Decision.
