Brittany Renner Reflects On The Criticism She Received For Dating Washington
During the interview, Thembi asked Renner about the criticism she received during her previous relationship with NBA player PJ Washington. Renner was 26 at the time and Washington was 18.
Also, many consider her to be “trying to catch the spotlight”.
I’ve always wanted a relationship, I’ve always been a woman alone. I think most of that story is from when he tweeted, ‘You faked it all a long time ago.’ And he never came to my aid. So who will you believe? Him or me? And I didn’t do anything but make up the story that everyone thought – he knew it. But why did he come to my aid if he was upset with me?
The 31-year-old beauty went on to explain that it was unfortunate that she had to receive criticism from the world. But she said she couldn’t understand why people continue to hold such views of her today.
I don’t know why people even still think the way they do about the situation. I love my child’s father to death. I do not want to be with him. And our son was planned. I think it’s my guy. I guess I’m stupid to think that someone is only six years younger than me – even if there’s no age gap… I just really think it’s my person who understands and sees me because he never now judge me. That’s how it appears – that’s clearly not true.
Renner went on to reiterate that if she wanted to “catch up” financially from any man, she could do so but never did.
Brittany Renner accused of “grooming” Washington in their relationship
As The Shade Room previously reported, Brittany Renner is accused of “grooming” PJ Washington during their relationship. She was even accused of deliberately “trapping” professional basketball players while pregnant with their son.
However, Renner has always denied the allegations. In an exclusive interview with DJ Akademiks, she explained that she used contraception while dating Washington and that it was he who wanted her to have a baby with him.

She told Akademiks, recalling a conversation with Washington about having children. She then went on to share her surprise that the world didn’t criticize other famous couples like Jay-Z and Beyoncé for their age gap.
