The 151st Open Championship has arrived with four days of pristine golf ahead at Royal Liverpool. Hosting the Claret Jug for the first time since 2014, Hoylake, England, was flooded with the best golfers for the whole week with some notable names finding success for a long time to come.

Following his victory at the Scottish Open, the last man to win the Open at Royal Liverpool is looking to enter consecutive tournaments with Rory McIlroy joining as the clear favorite on April 21, according to Caesars Sportsbook. McIlroy has spent the past nine years in search of his fifth major title, and his final win at Hoylake is part of an incredible streak that has seen him win consecutive major titles.

Ironically, 2014 McIlroy’s runner-up, Rickie Fowler, happened to see a career resurgence. Fowler led for most of the US Open last month only to see his attempt ultimately fail, but he continued that by winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic a few weeks ago for his first win since 2019.

While Scottie Scheffler has enjoyed a lot of recent success as the world’s #1 golfer, he has yet to turn his statistical success this year into the second-biggest win of his career. He finished T10 at the Masters, T2 at the PGA Championship and 3rd at the US Open but still needed a major title to add more hardware to what has been a lucrative campaign.
