All pet parents know exactly how much our animals mean to us — so choosing to give up a dog you love can be quite an experience. hurt.
But one 12-year-old boy, who was painfully aware of the abuse his dog was enduring at home, acted out of true love and did everything he could to help his pet dog find his or her best friend. see a happier life.
Despite loving him very much and considering him as my best friend, a boy named Andres was forced to make the devastating decision to adopt her dog, Rene.
Why? Because Rene suffered at the hands of Andres’ biological father. Not only was Rene hit often, but she was also kicked so hard that her tail was badly injured.
Therefore Andres decided that it would be best for him to go behind his father’s back and leave Rene, along with a detailed note explaining why he chose to say goodbye, in a box outside a facility animal rescue. There, Rene will be able to find a new family and live her best life.
Luckily, sweet Rene didn’t have to wait long in the box for the staff at Xollin’s Animal Shelter to find him. However, Andres wrapped him his favorite stuffed toy to keep him around. Xollin is an animal rescue organization that helps find homes for animals that have suffered at the hands of humans.
“We take care of and rehabilitate them physically and mentally so they can smile again, have faith in people and therefore be happier in a new home,” said one employee. through adoption, or at our center through sponsorship.”
Not only do Andres put his favorite toy in the box with Rene, but he also included a heartbreaking handwritten letter outlining why he was willing to make this difficult decision. You may want to grab a tissue before continuing to read. This letter is a real tear.
“My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave him to you. All this is behind my father’s back, because he was thinking of selling him. But he always hit and kicked the dog. Once he kicked him so hard that his little tail was injured. I hope you can help him and take care of him. This is a plush toy so he won’t forget me.”
Sadly, not everyone considers animals to be members of the family. But brave Andres willing to do what it takes to get his best friend to safety, even if he knows he will miss him forever.
