Boxing Insider Fight Night Results: Raymond Cuadrado Deciding Yeuri Andujar; Arnold Gonzalez Alejandro Munera

New York’s own Raymond Cuadrado Jr opened a Boxing internals card on Thursday night at Times Squares’ Sony Theater when he takes on Yeuri Andujar of the Dominican Republic in a scheduled four-round match. While Andujar 5-5-1 was clearly the underdog, he performed very well in the first half, although Cuadrado 7-0 could have been a bit better. The second round saw Cuadrado establish himself as the more dominant of the two boxers. By the third round, it was clear that Cuadrado had good control. Working with the stab, he was able to keep Andujar at bay.

Credit to Andujar, he came to fight. His face covered in blood, he fought hard in the fourth and final round against the determined Cuadrado. However, all the bravery in the world could not lead Andujar to victory. In the end, Cuadrado received the referee’s nod with the scores 40-36, 40-36 and 40-36. It was a strong performance for a young boxer with a disciplined fighting plan.

Next, Arnold Gonzalez 11-0 played Alejandro Munera 8-7-4 in a scheduled six-round middleweight bout. Gonzalez started the pressure war from the very beginning. However, both men remained essentially patient in the opening round. Munera did well after his stab in the second minute. Gonzalez continued to pressurize in the third half. He also used body work effectively until the end of the round.

Munera did well in the fourth round, shooting at Gonzalez as the man came in. The fifth inning is a matter of tempo control. Gonzalez tries to push for action while Munera tries to counter his men. A very aggressive Gonzalez clearly won the sixth and final round. He didn’t knock out his opponent, as he probably would have liked, but he won anyway. Scores: 59-55, 60-54 and 60-54.
