Sample flights

Flight deals to Trinidad and Tobago from Miami and Los Angeles are rare, so book if you can.

Here are two routes to Piarco International Airport (POS):

  • American: Departures from Miami International Airport (MIA), prices start at $261.
  • United: Departures from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), starting at $379 (including transfers).

The flight to Miami is a direct flight, but the flight from Los Angeles includes a stopover at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston.

We recommend using Google Flights to determine the ideal date and then book your flight directly through the airline’s website. Compared to Google Flights, airline websites are more reliable if your flight has been delayed, canceled or changed.

On Google Flights, American has two options for non-stop flights to Trinidad and Tobago from May 11 to May 18. A highly discounted flight of $261, departing Miami at 5:35 afternoon. The other, slightly more expensive option at $305, leaves Miami earlier in the day, at 10:05 a.m. Both flights are three hours and 50 minutes long.

The cheaper return flight to Miami also costs $261 and leaves the Port of Spain at 3:22pm

The basic economy of the US also allows passengers to bring luggage and one personal item on board for free.

If you want to pick up a seat on your flights, it will cost you anywhere from $12 to $113 extra. The $113 more expensive seat is the American “Extra Cabin,” which offers 6-inch-wide legroom and sits at the front of the plane.

Key point

Although flight options are limited from Miami and Los Angeles only, the prices on this deal are too good to pass up. Los Angeles hasn’t seen a significant drop in fares to Trinidad and Tobago in two years, and such low rates from Miami are relatively common for most of the year.

These flights are sure to fill up quickly, so if you live in or near Los Angeles or Miami, now is the time to plan a trip to Trinidad and Tobago.
