BMW car To be remember 3.431 tram because the sound generator used when backing up may be faulty. Specifically, some examples of 2022-2023 BMW i4 eDrive40 (1,988 vehicles) and 2022-2023 BMW iX xDrive50 (1,443 vehicles) are being recalled.

BMW says the external artificial noise generator control unit “may not frequently experience a fault condition”. In case you’re curious, this regulation includes the minimum audio requirements for mixture and electric cars. Since there are no natural engine sounds to warn those around them of their presence, all these vehicles must make artificial noises at low speeds.

The defect in the lack of reverse noise was discovered during a quality control check at a BMW production facility. BMW then carried out a full analysis to determine which models and options packages were at fault. i4 owners, it seems that only eDrive40 is affected, so i4 M50 Owners don’t need to worry. For iXonly xDrive50 is included in this recall, so iX M60 Owner can sit it out.

For those with affected vehicles, owners will be notified and instructed to bring their electric vehicles in authorized dealer get their car updated with new artificial sound generator software.
