Biaggi, Lorenzo and Anderson Named MotoGP Legends

The MotoGP Walk of Fame ranking is once again set to rise, with three new auctions arriving in 2022 – Max Biaggi, Jorge Lorenzo and Hugh Anderson.

The bids were originally set to happen before the COVID-19 pandemic, but now Dorna sees fit to execute her plan well, with Lorenzo introduced in the Jerez round, Biaggi taking the title at the round. Mugello, and there are plans for Anderson at the end of the season (perhaps at Phillip Island, if MotoGP finishes that stop in Australia).

The nominations are certainly worthy recipients, with Max Biaggi being a four-time Grand Prix world champion in the 250cc class, along with two World Superbike championships to his name.

Jorge Lorenzo is a five-time world champion, winning the title three times in MotoGP with Yamaha and twice in the 250cc class with Aprilia.

Competing in the 1960s, Hugh Anderson won four world titles in his career – two in the 50cc and two in the 125cc (two of which were in the same season, 1963). The New Zealander also has two TT race victories to his name.
