Jamaica Inn — Ochos Rios, Jamaica
Fun fact: Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller spent their honeymoon at the Jamaica Inn in 1957. This Valentine’s Day, you can recreate poses from that event (or create your own) with a couples photoshoot on the beach here as an add-on to the resort’s Celebration of Love package.
Located on a secluded, sandy cove juxtaposed against turquoise waters just east of Ocho Rios, the boutique resort has attracted celebrities since opening in the mid-20th century. Casa Velas — Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta is Mexico’s most LGBTQ+-friendly city and a great Valentine’s Day destination for everyone. Casa Velas is an adults-only, all-inclusive boutique resort with a romantic ambience and Mexican hacienda-style architecture set on lush grounds with a sprawling blue-tiled swimming pool. The beach, where the hotel has a private club and restaurant for guests, is just a few minutes’ shuttle ride away.
If you plan to propose this Valentine’s Day, Casa Velas is offering a Proposal with Toast package. It includes access to one of the resort’s private garden areas for two hours to get down on one knee and ask for forever. You’ll also get a bouquet of 150 red roses, seven giant letters to spell out “Marry Me,” a bottle of sparkling wine and use of house furniture if you are planning for an audience. The package will include a special dinner prepared by Bengtsson that includes Champagne, Petrossian caviar and hand-selected wines paired with each course. The decadent food will be balanced by a winter wellness menu curated by the chef. This includes cedar barrel sauna sessions, cold plunges, skiing and snowshoeing.
